Keynote of the organizerDear Sir/Madam, It is our great pleasure to inform you that Siemens is organizing a regional journalist competition – Siemens CEE Press Award 2016, which will be held in ten countries of Central and Eastern Europe: Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia. On behalf of our company, we would like to use this opportunity to invite you to apply and, by sending your original articles, participate in the first Central and Eastern Europe journalist competition – Siemens CEE Press Award 2016. All interested journalists can participate in the competition by sending their original articles on the topic of "Intelligent Infrastructure". The original articles on this topic need to be published in the period from September 1st 2015 to September 12th 2016, and submitted by September 12th 2016. Competition is, under equal conditions, open to all texts in print media, reports from agency journalists, as well as the reports broadcast in electronic media, TV and radio. Journalists’ vision and expertise in stated field will draw attention to the topics that are nowadays crucial as the business environment is constantly changing. Competition topic and its relevance in creating sustainable future have a lot of inspiring materials for the media representatives across the region. Urban and industrial infrastructures today face many challenges which call for intelligent approach - building an infrastructure who will meet all demands. Siemens, as an innovation leader, offers the perfect combination of domain expertise and experience that will provide intelligent solutions for both today and tomorrow. Our mission is not only to provide these solutions, but also to contribute to the understanding of importance of these topics among society. For that reason, through our competition Siemens CEE Press Award 2016, we are placing intelligent infrastructure in the spotlight. An expert jury for each country will be composed of the professor from the University of Technical Sciences, journalists specializing in this field, and representative of Siemens. They will choose the three best articles on the local level, which will further qualify for the regional competition final in Vienna. Gala evening event in Vienna will be the stage for selecting three best regional journalists' articles. Along with the prestigious acknowledgement of best journalists’ article in the region of Central and Eastern Europe, Siemens will reward the CEE winners with valuable study award trip. During the competition final in Vienna, the award-winning journalists from all participating countries will have an opportunity to visit the Aspern – Vienna’s Urban Lakeside, and see latest technological achievements from Siemens. Organization of the competition in the region of Central and Eastern Europe, more than ever places the importance of topic „Intelligent infrastructure“ in the spotlight, enabling quality exchange of experiences between different countries. At the same time, we believe that we will further encourage connection between media representatives and Siemens, while creating stronger regional cooperation, and thus improve awareness of all those who are engaged in the quest for journalistic excellence.
