Jury

Grading criteria

The jury in each participating country will select three winners from those journalists who have applied their articles on the topic of „Intelligent infrastructure“ and dealt with the issue in a clear and concise manner, showing distinguished originality that stands out among others working in this sphere. Same criteria will be used while grading their articles in the first stage of the competition on the local level, and in the second regional, Central and Eastern Europe, level.

In determining the winners on both levels, following criteria shall be considered:

  • Following the specified topic and the information richness of the article
  • Intelligibility and argumentation of the article content
  • Clear and concise writing style
  • “Personal touch” of the author
  • Analytical ability of the author
  • Actuality of the problem and the innovation that is written about - was the author the first to wrote on the specified topic
  • Innovations – to which extent are technology solution presented in the article
  • Relevance – to which extent article describes the real problem of the mentioned innovation

Members of the Regional Jury

After the selection of winners on local level, jury from each participating country will evaluate only winning articles from the participating countries by the same criteria as in the first phase of the competition. Average grade from all jury members will be assigned to each article. Juries are not allowed to vote for competitors from their own country. Three articles with highest overall scores will be proclaimed as the Press Award 2016 CEE winners, and announced during the gala evening event in Vienna.
